PMI Mile Hi Chapter Events

In 2017, we celebrated PMI Mile Hi’s 19th Annual Rocky Mountain Project Management Symposium, once again offering you an exciting full day of VIP speakers, project management education, and PDUs.

For the 2018 PMI Mile Hi Symposium, Marcus Buckinghamwill be the keynote speaker – a session you won’t want to miss.  Of course, you’ll earn PDUs to round out your talent triangle and expand your knowledge base with significant sessions, networking, and workshops.  Mark April 20, 2018 on your calendar now and register early so you don’t miss this critical project management learning opportunity.  Registration is open at www.PmiMileHiSym.org.

This year marked the 3nd Annual PM Week, and attendees participated in speed networking, job search skills camp, learned from a panel discussion with our friends at Pivotal about new tools for the project management toolkit and toured a local distillery, Downslope Distilling, to see first-hand how project management relates to all industries.  In 2018, look for PM week in September, and register early to claim your spot!

This year brought global attention to the 2nd annual Women in PM Leadership conference, focusing on supporting women in the profession. Keynote speaker Beatrice Opoku-Asare Director, Global Inclusion and Diversity Newmont Mining brought humor and insight around diversity and inclusion in the workplace.  Your chapter is already planning the 2018 conference – volunteer today!

Annual membership picnic at Bear Creek Lake Park – members enjoyed grilling out, games, family time, and fun being outside and sharing a relaxed afternoon in the Colorado outdoors.

New this year was tailgating at a Rapids soccer game!  Board members greeted guests with a tailgating spread, on-the-field pre-game VIP treatment, and group seating for an exciting match.

PMI Mile Hi mentoring program – this year we celebrated our mentoring matches after six months – if you would like to participate in this meaningful and growth opportunity, as a mentor OR mentee, contact membership@pmimilehi.org.

First Annual Holiday Party – this elegant cocktail party wrapped up 2017 in style!  Members and their guests danced, ate, and celebrated while raising money for the Educational Foundation and toys to brighten children’s holidays around Denver.  This was the first year for such and event and we are looking forward to growing and celebrating with YOU each year!

New Member Orientation – this critical session for new members was revived and revitalized this year to welcome new members and demonstrate the myriad ways your chapter supports your PM practice and provides you growth and learning throughout your career.  The membership team can always use mentors and volunteers to engage and connect with new members – contact the team today to find out how you can contribute. Events like these are what your chapter is all about.  Take advantage of your membership and make sure you are attending chapter meetings, Symposium, Saturday Workshops at Regis University, Career Growth Workshops, and North Professional Development Workshops so you continue to grow in your project management career.

These events do not take place without the dedication and support of our membership – whether you attend an event or volunteer, YOU make all the difference!

FutureCast 2018

Your 2018 Board of Directors, with YOU in mind, works constantly to create membership value by adhering to these strategic goals:

To address these issues, the Board meets monthly to discuss goals, activities and the resources necessary to ensure YOU, our members, see value in your membership, have opportunities to contribute to the growth and success of your chapter, and have access to the educational opportunities which make the CAPM and PMP credentials meaningful and recognized around the world as a standard of excellence.

Please consider volunteering your time, talent, and treasure to your chapter – it’s easy!

We also welcome your feedback about how your Board and chapter is doing, what you would like to see the chapter do for you, and how we can make improvements.  Please reach out and connect with us – board@pmimilehi.org

The Board looks forward to sharing our successes and opportunities throughout 2018 and celebrating YOU!
