Patrick Coppinger will present "Peering into the Black Box of Organizational Change Management" You have heard of Organizational Change Management (OCM) but have you seen it practiced within your organization? As the OCM practice trickles down from the large consulting firms and Fortune 50 to the rest of us it may sound like a black box – an expensive black box, too. First, we will explore the basics of the changemanagement. After we have built a common understanding we dive into the most powerful change tool that all businesses have: sponsorship. What makes sponsorship good, mediocre, or bad? With simple exercises you can use at your organization and propelled by real-world examples, Patrick will demonstrate the most effective steps you can take to drive successful initiatives and projects in your organization. Grab a highlighter and some paper, it’s all you need to start your journey into organizational change management.

Hal Lunka will present "Imagination, Creativity, Innovation"
These words are used more and more frequently to describe outcomes needed to continue to be successful in the 21st Century.  What do they really mean?  How would you measure an outcome? What do recent studies say can be done to influence those desirable outcomes?
Patrick Coppinger Bio:

Bios:
Patrick Coppinger’s career has spanned industries from Aerospace and Defense to Healthcare, and Information Technology to Non-Profits. He started as a mechanical engineer designing and building NASA spacecraft at Ball Aerospace, including working on the Mars program. He then moved on becoming a Program Manager with Sierra Nevada Corporation working with Special Operations for the US Military developing several aircraft platforms. His other roles have been chief information officer and the head of a change management consulting practice. The common theme at each step was to ask simple questions, teach people how to use process and technology to improve their day to day operations, and implement those lessons in change-averse organizations.  Patrick has spoken at the Association of Change Management Practitioners’ global conference in New Orleans and the Mile High SHRM Chapter on Change Management. Patrick has been a part of Ball Aerospace, Sierra Nevada Corporation, and Breo Solutions; currently he is an independent consultant. Outside of work, Patrick skis, enjoys food and wine, and races bikes – slowly. He lives in the Denver Tech Center with his wife, two young daughters, and a cat named Looney.

Hal Lunka is a Past President of the Denver Metro Project Management Education Foundation and continues to serve as an advisory board member. Prior to serving the on Foundation, he was a past President and Chair of the Project Management Institute Mile Hi Chapter.  He is currently serving on the Broomfield County Workforce Center Board as well as giving workshops for people in transition. Hal is also a Distinguished Toastmaster and an instructor for Junior Achievement Grades 1 through 12.
