Brain Based Change Management

Make newly implemented changes “stick” longer

Do you know of any projects where the deliverables were attained and celebrated but the value of the project was never fully realized because the change wasn’t fully accepted and integrated?

As initiators of intentional change, project managers play an essential role in stimulating and managing change at the organizational and individual level. For a change to be long lasting, however, human factors have to be systematically considered, and strategies to encourage change and mitigate resistance must become  part of the project plan.  Recent discoveries in the field of neuroscience have revealed how the human brain perceives and processes change, factors that inhibit change such as fear and those factors that generate acceptance and even participation in the change process , such as goal setting, motivation, habits, mindset, and reward.  By understanding how different parts of the brain can be activated project managers can apply the right tools and techniques at each stage of the change process to support long lasting change.

In this three hour interactive workshop participants will:

  • Explore the relevance of neuroscience to the business environment
  • Understand how the neuroscience of social intelligence can  guide and support the project manager’s role
  • Recognize why change is such as challenge to the human brain
  • Examine how brain science can help managers move people and  project teams from idea to action orientation to action itself.

Workshop participants will receive:

-tools for assessing reasons for resistance

-a summary of brain regions and their primary functions as they pertain to business

-a framework for mapping a brain based change management plan

- a model for coaching people from resistance to problem solving
