Mark Davidson

Mark Davidson will present his workshop on two topics related to the software development process.  First, "Hands on Transition - Waterfall, Scrum, XP, Spotify, and SAFe".  Each time we evolve a new way to build systems, we seem to dismiss some of our previous knowledge. What would happen if we added to and evolved our knowledge base instead of losing what we already know?  Experience a fully interactive event exploring the differences through a hands-on session where teams are expected to deliver a completed work product as efficiently as possible.  Then, "Story Mapping on Steroids".  The art and science of a good story map is it tells you what you need to build and just as important, what can wait. It provides levels of clarity that is not available in any other way.  You will capture and record what is driving a project. Then you and your team will identify the personas that you will need to identify with to shape decisions. Final you will deliver at an epic, feature and large story level, a map of what it is we are going to build.

Mark Davidson has 40 years of experience in software / systems development has lead teams of 3 to 300 people. He has been applying a blended traditional and agile approach for the last 15 years. For the last 7 years he has been successfully supporting the transformation of organizations to be more effective using Agile tool sets.  Mark is a very highly focused visual person. When he discovered 3 by 5 index cards and blue tape to make big and visible card walls, it was like a fish finding water. Since 2001 Mark has worked to convey information in the form of a deck of cards.  Mark’s passions are the growth of people, the creation of business value with technology, and the development of technology experts into business experts. He is actively involved in the Agile community as a presenter and speaker.
