3.0 PDU,Technical: This Risk Management Workshop will begin with a session on best practices in Risk and Opportuinty Management. Kari Sanders has developed these over her 20 years of experience managing projects. Additional insights will be included from Mark Wright, Apex Program Director - National GEOINT Solutions at Ball Aerospace, Boulder. Topics within this session will include mitigiation visualization, management reserve philosophies, R&O workshop lessons learned, assessment of impacts/opportunities and probabilities. The second part of the risk management workshop will focus on communicating your risks to get management action. This will be an interactive hands-on session with examples for attendees to work on in small teams.


0.5 PDU, Strategy: During the networking session, attendees will have an opportunity to converse with fellow project managers in order to improve their business acumen, enhance their awareness of market conditions, perform competitve analysis, and gain insight into legal and regulatory compliance issues.

 

Kari S. Sanders has twenty years of experience with hardware and software development projects ranging from $250,000 to $400 million and currently works in the Program Management Office for a Satellite Ground System program at Raytheon. Her experience spans the project lifecycle as well as systems ranging from optical payloads and spacecraft to satellite ground systems and manufacturing torpedo components.  Kari holds a B.S. in Engineering Physics and a B.S. EE from the Colorado School of Mines; an MS EE from UCLA; and an MBA in Strategic Management from Regis University. She is an active member of the Mile Hi chapter. In 2017, she published her first project management book as well as a children’s book.

As Program Director of the National GEOINT Solutions strategic business unit, Mark Wright is responsible for Apex Program Execution.  The Apex Program is currently the largest active program at Ball and has significant importance in the GEOINT community. Mark Wright has over 27 years in the Aerospace Industry.  Since joining Ball Aerospace in 2000, he had held various Program Management Positions including Phantom, P992, and others.   Mark began his aerospace career as a test engineer at GE Astrospace and was an Integration and Test Manager at Harris prior to joining Ball Aerospace.   Mark has a BS in Aerospace Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and a MS in Engineering Management from The Florida Institute of Technology.
