2.0 PDU Strategic and Business: The Journey of a Startup

Mark Schleiger will begin the workshop presenting his startup journey - After working with startups for 15 years, there are some common traits and practices that Mark has seen in successful startups. While there is no single correct recipe, Mark will share simple tools and concepts that help startups increase their chances of success by focusing their efforts on what matters!

Our second presentation will be from Dr Joseph Gersch. In Joe’s experience startup companies rarely begin their efforts with a formal project management structure. It’s a fast-moving, often chaotic environment. This presentation gives a case study of how a high-tech startup evolved from informal to formal processes while trying to deliver its first products.

1.0 PDU Strategic and Business: How Project Managers add value in Startups – Our Leadership Panel will consist of seasoned Entrepreneurs with firsthand experience of the Project Management skills needed in startup environment. They are:
Craig Mueller – Project Manager, Century Link, Facilitator
Ben Walker - Executive Director of the Life Sciences program at the Innosphere
Denichiro "Denny" Otsuga – Partner, Rockies Impact Fund
Hope Hartman - Founder & CEO Escape Velocity

0.5 PDU Strategic and Business: During the networking session, attendees will have an opportunity to converse with fellow project managers in order to improve their business acumen, enhance their awareness of market conditions, perform competitive analysis, and gain insight into legal and regulatory compliance issues.
