Speaker: Kane Wai

Currently he is responsible for assessing, tailoring and deploying project management methods and tools and establishing PMOs for Deloitte Consulting engagements of more than $50M in revenue. Kane is also a Deloitte certified classroom instructor at Deloitte University. Kane has BS in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University, and MBA from the University of Houston - Clear Lake. He is also a Certified Project Manager Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), & Certified SAFe Agilist (SA).

1.5 PDU Technical: The Next Generation PMO Mandate. PMO - Over the years this three-letter acronym has seen much damage to its reputation, to the point that many people in various organizations in multiple industries recognize it like some dirty word that no child would dare to utter at the dinner table. The purpose of the presentation is to deal with the misconceptions about the failed PMOs and help attendees discover truly what the next generation of PMOs must become in the modern business organization to fulfil its mandate. He will also share with the audience how one professional services organization has transformed its PMO by leveraging some simple marketing ideas with the business results to show for it.

1.5 PDU Leadership: Manage your Project Management Career. Most of us stumble into project management and have become successful at it by necessity rather than careful planning. But that doesn’t mean you can continue to be successful without taking care of your project management career. This presentation will help attendees understand where they’ve been, where they are in their career and how they and the organization of which they are an integral part can establish a credible and beneficial career management model that will benefit both.

0.5 PDU, Strategy: During the networking session, attendees will have an opportunity to converse with fellow project managers in order to improve their business acumen, enhance their awareness of market conditions, perform competitive analysis, and gain insight into legal and regulatory compliance issues.
