Mike Kallet will present "Critical Thinking and Innovation".

Thinking Outside-the-Box is a common term we use when the suggested ideas and solutions have already been vetted and tried and there needs to be something new or different. So someone shouts out, “We need to Think Outside-the-Box”. How to accomplish this however is more than just proclaiming the task. In order to Think Outside-the-Box, you first have to know what your box is, and only then can you begin to think outside of it. Mike Kallet will provide a critical thinking perspective of how to understand “your box” and then introduce a few techniques to think outside of it. The takeaway from the session will be an understanding of how to identify “the box” and then conduct an Outside-the-Box conversation.

About Mike Kallet

Mike Kallet, CEO of Headscratchers and author of Think Smarter: Critical Thinking to Improve Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Skills, will present a brief on the definition and importance of critical thinking in the workplace and how it can be applied for raising confidence in decisions. Attendees will take away an understanding and the value of asking two important questions that start a critical thinking conversation about the merit of an idea.

Team Activity - Putting it all together: Participants will break into teams and assess their own needs and plans with respect to what they learned in both presentations. During the last 15 minutes of the event, each team will nominate a spokesperson to highlight to the entire workshop some of the things they learned.
