Microservices from a Project Management Perspective

PDU Category: Technical

Regis PMI South Roundtable February 2018

Microservices architecture has emerged an approach to software development that breaks down complex applications into smaller component or processes. It complements Agile and can provide better stability and resilience.  Clark Hobbie will discuss how Project Managers (PMs) can embrace Microservices architectures to enable continuous delivery and deployment.  Microservices are very popular, but how do we make them reliable?  Clarks presentation goes over the Miranda project; a new, open-source project which tries to answer this question.  The talk looks at how Microservices can benefit your organization, what the challenges are and how to negate them, how Miranda can help, and how Miranda improves on the situation from a staffing and scheduling perspective.

His presentation will address:

1.  What are Microservices?

2.  The Value of Microservices to a Project Manager (PM)

3.  Challenges and best practices in implementing Microservices

4.  Miranda - A case study on Microservices
