A Simple Resource Planning Process

PDU Category: Technical Project Management

Dennis will present on PMT’s unique training in the fields of time analysis and resource planning.  He will address the path to true Time-Limited Resource Planning.  His session is not simply based on theories, but rather is steeped in practical application, all of which has been thoroughly demonstrated in many actual project management situations.  Whenever and wherever these processes and methodologies have been properly implemented, the returns in cost and schedule performance have always been significant. His presentation will include interactive group discussion on The Path to Resource Planning and entails practical exercises on Determining Effective Resource Availability, Calculating a Resource’s Capacity and Workload, and Simple Resource Load Analysis.

Presenter: Dennis H. Busch, PMP; Owner/Author at Project Management Technologies, Inc., a Registered Education Provider (REP) of PMI (www.pmtonline.com)

Dennis Busch is a senior level project management consultant with forty-five years of experience in the design, development, implementation and support of Project Management and Program Control systems and processes.  This effort includes development, implementation and presentation of a comprehensive suite of courses of instruction in: project management processes and tools; project planning design, development, and implementation; and program control design, development, and implementation.  These courses have been taught to many professional project planners as well as relative project management novices in a wide variety of businesses and industries (i.e. Aerospace, DoD, DOE, IRS, IT, Microsoft, etc.).  Much of this training is unique, pushing the state-of-the-art to new heights, especially in the fields of time analysis and resource planning.  These courses are not simply based on theories, but rather are steeped in practical application, all of which has been thoroughly demonstrated in many actual project management situations.  Whenever and wherever these processes and methodologies have been properly implemented, the returns in cost and schedule performance have always been significant.  His publications include:

  • Textbook. "The New Critical Path Method -- The State Of The Art In Project Modeling And Time Reserve Management"
  • Article. "The Critical Path Method And The Process Of A Project" AIAA/ADPA/NSIA 1st National TQM Symposium
