What if American management has been dead wrong about the latest fads of how to manage effectively? What if the only people who gain from all the latest hypothetical theories are the management gurus who promise “the answer.” The cycle of temporary answers continues because these latest “fads” are never rooted in anything more substantial than limited observation, limited settings, over limited periods of time. Imagine the confusion and inefficiency when every manager has his own leadership style and his own approach to leading. Leading by intuition and “what feels right” will at best produce sporadic and unpredictable results. In this round table discussion we will explore the elements of a six-step process based on the Science of Human Behavior. Participants will be able to apply this process consciously and correctly to achieve sustained high commitment to the project team’s objectives

Heinz G. Buschang, PhD

Dr. Buschang has over 25 years of practical experience managing highly technical production operations. He directed the design and implementation of business strategy, technology integration, and organization effectiveness initiatives for Eastman Kodak.

In 1997 he founded HGB Associates, a management-consulting firm that specializes in the application of the Sciences of Human Behavior. The focus of his organization is on analyzing complex business issues and helping leaders create alignment, accelerate the pace of strategic change and to foster an environment of high performance. He has provided intensive one-on-one executive coaching that links leadership behavior to the attainment of business results.

Clients include Fortune-500 companies, as well as smaller organizations, in a broad range of business sectors.  Dr. Buschang has extensive experience with both domestic and international clients, including Chevron Overseas Petroleum, Bechtel, ExxonMobil, Swedish Match, JP Morgan, Bayer and the Australia Asia Division of HJ Heinz.

From 2009 to 2013 he served as Dean of the School of Management, Regis University in Denver, Colorado. He continues to be actively involved with the University as well as providing a consulting resource to prior clients.

Dr. Buschang received a BA in Chemistry and Physics and an MBA in Management and Finance at the University Colorado.  In 1992 he earned a Ph.D. in Human Resource Development at Colorado State University.  He is a member of the Colorado Business Leaders forum, served as a Director of the Fort Collins, Colorado Chamber of Commerce and a Trustee for the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies.
