Workshop Title: Visualizing Connections Across Project Management and the Business Development Lifecycle

Workshop Summary:    Tangible connections are illustrated between PMBOK 6th Edition, the ISO 9001:2015 Standard, Lean Principles, and Agile methodology and the entire Business Development lifecycle. In helpful ways, PMBOK links Business Development, Capture Management, Proposal Development, and Knowledge Management arenas with project management. The Critical Path Method is applied to pivotal milestones in the Business Development process. Each major activity is interpreted through the lens of PMBOK’s framework. Promoted by the ISO 9001:2015 Standard, the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle is demonstrated to be relevant to conducting Business Development functions. Bridging the gap between practicing Project Management Professionals and Business Development staff expands an organization’s capacity to win business in the Federal and Commercial marketspaces.

(All participants will receive electronic copies of my Cross-Walk: PMBOK, Management Volume, and Proposal Development Lifecycle matrix, as well as two peer-reviewed and relevant published articles of mine.)
