Title: Practicing the People Side of Success


This session will walk you through the key skills you need to influence all levels of individuals impacted by your project. Our discussion will help you:

  • Identify your influencing targets and goals
  • Understand what project sponsors are looking for in their PMs
  • Learn what “people” information to pay attention to and how
  • Better frame your message back to your influencer
  • Practice these skills to influence a colleague (15 minute table exercise)



Michelle Kahler is an expert practitioner in project management, business analysis, process improvement and change leadership at North Highland, a global management consulting firm headquartered in Atlanta. She is also a career sports enthusiast with a background playing D1 college basketball, pro-women’s football and most recently Lacrosse! For the past 20 years, Michelle has helped solve complex business problems and expand a variety of capabilities for many public and private sector organizations. She is an active supporter of the PMI and IIBA Denver chapters and meets regularly with colleagues to brainstorm ideas and career development…relationships are the key!

  • Registration for this event ends the Tuesday prior to the event at 5:00 p.m.  If you must register for this event after that time, contact the Help Desk (helpdesk@pmimilehi.org) up to 3:00 p.m. the day of the event to register (note that a late fee may apply).
  • The Go To Meeting link will be sent out by the Help Desk the Tuesday evening prior to the event after registration closes at 5:00 p.m.  If you have not received the link by Wednesday morning at 10a.m., contact the Help Desk no later than 3pm (helpdesk@pmimilehi.org).  Please ensure that you have the Help Desk email noted as a "safe sender email" so that it does not end up in your Spam box.  Refunds will not be given if you do not contact the Help Desk prior to 3pm and you are not able to gain access to the meeting.

         First presentation: approx. 5:30 - 6:30

         Second presentation: approx. 7:00 - 8:15
