Real World Project: Implementation of professional Development Learning Management System (LMS) at CSU

This presentation will cover a poorly initiated project that was about to fail and how it was reworked and implemented. We will discuss rescuing a project close to failure, how we recovered and re-initiated the project properly. Starting from the beginning we will cover the process to initiate, plan, execute, and close the project. We will also discuss follow up projects that are now in the planning process; those were initially out of scope.

Hands on Activity: In a group setting, we will do several facilitated Discussions throughout the workshop to reinforce the learning process

Takeaways:

  • Rescuing a project in trouble
  • How an Agile/Waterfall mixed methodology can work for project success
  • Defining project success and use this to define the project scope
  • Managing stakeholder expectations and perceptions

Networking - bring your business cards! Attendees will have an opportunity to converse with fellow project managers in order to improve their business acumen, enhance their awareness of market conditions, perform competitive analysis, and gain insight into legal and regulatory compliance issues.
