Corporate Social Responsibility

PDU Category: Strategic and Business Management

Ethics

Why do businesses exist? This straightforward question captures the topic of our conversation.

The idea of corporations as simply wealth creating organizations with no obligations to society is no longer an accepted view of the responsibility organizations owe to our world especially when you consider many corporations are wealthier than some countries.

Our discussion will focus on corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainable value creation. In order to rebut the idea of CSR as a cost to business, the emphasis will be on the idea of embedding CSR into core business processes and stakeholder management to produce operational and strategic advantage leading to both social and corporate value.
