Topic. Emotional Intelligence and Successful Project Management

Emotional Intelligence is a must-have skill for professionals and directly impacts a project manager’s ability to lead and create successful teams.  Although IQ is the biggest predictor to land a project, EQ is often the biggest predictor of that project’s success.  Join me for a fun and enlightening conversation about Emotional Intelligence. 

Learning Objectives.  Project managers (PMs) will learn why they need to know about EQ, and how it can help you be more successful as a PM.  Attendees will learn how EQ skill-building can enable them to:

  • Increase self-awareness and developing presence in their own lives
  • Build empowerment skills
  • Develop empathy and awareness of others
  • Understand the importance of self-management in leadership
  • Improve relationship - communication skills

About the Speaker.  Deb is the founder and CEO of coachEQ, an Emotional Intelligence training and consulting organization. She has worked as a coach, consultant, speaker (both local and national), educator, and psychotherapist for more than 35 years. In addition to her coaching and consulting work Deb has taught at Colorado State University and has served on many Colorado non-profit boards and commissions. Deb has had the pleasure of working with such organizations as The City of Fort Collins, IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Triple Crown Sports, national health organizations (Trinity Health, Telecare Corp.), and various professional networks around the country.

Deb has a Masters’ degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Hawaii. As a Leadership Coach, Deb holds the designation of PCC (Professional Certified Coach) from the International Coaching Federation. In addition, she is also certified in a wide variety of EQ and Leadership assessment tools, including ISEI certification (The Institute for Social + Emotional Intelligence) and the EQ-i 2.0.

Deb has spent the better part of her life helping and empowering people to be their best selves.  She believes that Emotional Intelligence is one of the most vital skillsets needed to become an authentic, effective leader. Armed with this knowledge, Deb helps her clients transform themselves through EQ skill-building.
