Ways of Working

Synopsis.  In the reality of virtual meetings, Zoom has become a platform which is nearly ubiquitous. Leveraging its various tools, provides a more engaging and effective experience for both the presenter(s) and participants.  In this interactive workshop participants will:

  • Examine characteristics of successful online synchronous meetings
  • Identify use cases for employing the variety of tools/functionality available within Zoom
  • Practice leading activities within Zoom

Speaker. Heidi C Blair, PhD, SFHEA, Director of Instructional Design & Technology at Regis University - Associate Professor

About the Speaker.  In her 30+ years in education, Heidi has taught Kindergarteners to doctoral students on two continents.  At Arizona State University she fed her problem-solving and geeky passions for instructional design and educational technology with a master’s and PhD.  In the last 10 years, she focused on developing collaborative teams devoted to innovative solution development in higher education.  These teams designed and developed web applications, resource platforms, professional learning, online courses and learning objects.  

In her current role as Director of Instructional Design and Technology at Regis University, Heidi leads a team of designers and technologists collaborating with faculty to provide engaging online learning experiences.  Dr Blair is an experienced international solution developer in higher education, learning & development, and K-12 education with a demonstrated history of serving in leadership roles across these sectors.  Throughout her career, she has filled progressively more complex positions at Tempe AZ Elementary, Northern Arizona University, East Carolina University, Arizona State University, Griffith University Queensland Australia, and now at Regis University.

Dr Blair is skilled in Leadership, Strategic Planning, Vision Operationalizing, Learning Management, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, and Systems Thinking. Strong community and social services professional with a PhD focused in Educational Technology (Design and Development) from Arizona State University.  Dr Blair holds a MEd in Learning and Instructional Design from Arizona State University.  She also holds a BA Ed in Early Childhood Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
