Regis PMI South Roundtable May 2021 (Virtual)
Topic: The Power to Be Ethical
Making ethical decisions requires power. A person in authority may find it easier to do what is right than a person who has no authority or is under pressure from a client. In this presentation we analyze two types of power that exist in our organizations and how they influence our decisions and behaviors. We’ll discuss how the power that comes from having a beneficial purpose can guide and even overcome the power that comes from authority. By balancing and applying these two types of power, professionals can protect their organizations from fraud, deception, and costly ethical mistakes.
