Topic. Focus Group Roundtable - What Industry Wants/Needs from Business Leadership

Synopsis of Session. Leadership within a business needs to be cultivated if it's to make enough of an impact on the enterprise. This roundtable will explore that need. This focused roundtable group discussion will serve as a qualitative approach to gain an in‐depth understanding of issues impacting managers at all levels. Our aim is to obtain data from individuals as a representative sample of a broader population. During this interactive session participants will participate in breakout groups to address the following questions and then report out:
- What is the state of business leadership?
- What is the future of business?
- How will leadership need to change?
Learning Objectives. PMs will:
- Understand met and unmet needs.
- Hear PMs’ feedback in their own words and voices.
- Discover ideas and issues that initially may not have been considered but are important for an organization to be successful.
Speaker. Ken Sagendorf, Ph.D.; Director and Professor, The Innovation Center, Anderson College of Business and Computing, Regis University
About the Speaker. Dr. Ken Sagendorf is the Founding Director of The Innovation Center, a Professor and the Program Director of the MBA in the Anderson College of Business & Computing at Regis University. Ken’s work focuses on designing educational environments that foster deep and transformative student learning. He has consulted and presented around the world on identifying and creating innovative, structural, and connected learning solutions for institutions, companies, and individuals. Ken puts strategic planning, management and leadership skills honed over twenty years within and outside of academe into action through innovation. He stays busy applying systems thinking and building partnerships within the business community and across multiple institutions and pioneering and publishing on new methods of teaching and learning across disciplines.
He serves as a consultant on sales, marketing and promotion of startups in the Denver area, has founded 4 for-profit and non-profit businesses in education and health care industries and published 5 books. At Regis, he has founded two (2) centers: The Innovation Center and The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. He teaches innovation and entrepreneurship-focused courses and has been requested and served as international consultant and strategic planning expert. He career has included academic leadership positions at the US Air Force Academy and at Syracuse University Graduate School. Ken holds a BS, MS, and PhD from Syracuse University and a Postdoctoral Certificate in Marketing and Management from the University of Florida - Warrington College of Business.
