Regis PMI South August 2021 Roundtable (Virtual) - The PMBOK Guide 7th Edition: First Impressions

Power Skills

Synopsis of Session.  Change has been almost a constant with PMI in 2021.  First a new PMP Exam and now the PMBOK® Guide – Seventh Edition was released for Member download and eBook purchase for English version on July 1, 2021.

In this livestream event, Cornelius Fichtner will give you his initial executive overview of the PMBOK Guide 7th edition.   He'll look at how this new version was developed, introduce the principles and domains, and look at how this document fits into the overall world of PM standards in the world. He will also answer the question: Should I use the PMBOK Guide 7th Edition for my PMP exam preparation at this time? He will explain how the new PMBOK shifts from a process-based to a principles-based to focus on outcomes versus deliverables.  .  Cornelius will advise on how PMs can expect to apply the new PMBOK to fulfilling their duties and how people pursuing PMPs can adjust.

Learning Objectives:  Attendees will:

  • Understand the difference between the PMBOK 6th Edition and 7th Edition and in what ways both are still relevant
  • Comprehend how the 7th edition will impact how PMs perform their duties.
  • Learn how the new PMBOK guide may impacts future PMP Exams.
  • Hear Lessons Learned from the 2021 PMP® Exam.
  • Gain insight on how to effectively manage efforts to prepare for the PMP Exam.

There will be time for Q&A, so bring your questions. See you there!
