The Project Management Day of Service (PMDoS) is a special one-day event where project managers volunteer their skills to help local nonprofits.
Think of it as a “planning day” for nonprofits—where experts sit down with organizations to set goals, solve problems, and build clear action plans they can use right away.
For nonprofits, it means walking away with practical tools like fundraising calendars, communication strategies, or program timelines. For volunteers, it’s a chance to give back, grow their skills, and see the power of project management in action.

Nonprofit Organizations Engaged in Previous PMDoS Events
We partnered with 10 nonprofit organizations during the 2025 Project Management Day of Service (PMDoS). Volunteer project managers helped each nonprofit create actionable plans and strategies supporting causes like mental health, education, and food security—delivering tangible results that empower them to further their missions.
Bullying Recovery Resource Center
Defends bullied children and helps rebuild lives.
2025 Deliverables: Training timeline, school outreach plan, success metrics, and pre/post-training survey structure.
Impact 100 Metro Denver
Empowers women to fund transformational nonprofit grants.
2025 Deliverables: Comprehensive public relations (PR) strategy, content calendar, press kit, event promotion, and community engagement plan.
The Lion Project
Tackles food insecurity in low-income Denver schools.
2025 Deliverables: Operational run-book for scaling food trailers, public relations (PR) strategy, and story capture framework.
Sakura Foundation
Celebrates Japanese and Japanese American culture and heritage.
2025 Deliverables: monday.com-based project plan for events, vendor coordination, social media planning, and volunteer recruitment.
Martyred Angels Foundation
Supports families affected by the tragic loss of a child.
2025 Deliverables: Capital fundraising campaign plan for an equine therapy campground, including grant strategies and property planning.
Resilient Futures
Builds inclusive, trauma-informed communities.
2025 Deliverables: Goal-setting framework, refined mission statement, sales scripting, and training on innovation and lifecycle marketing.
Southern Plains Land Trust
Protects and manages land on the Southern Plains for wildlife and nature.
2025 Deliverables: Documentation of health and safety protocols for events, emergency response, and staff procedures.
Un/Do Mindset
Teaches mindset strategies to help individuals thrive across life stages.
2025 Deliverables: Strategic project plan, outreach and partnership strategies, key performance indicators (KPIs), budgeting, and scaling.
YANAM2M (You Are Not Alone, Mom 2 Mom)
Ensures mothers feel safe, valued, and supported.
2025 Deliverables: Checklist outlining action steps, priorities, and implementation sequencing.
Make Mental Health Matter (formerly BCC Evolution)
Promotes mental health awareness and suicide prevention through education.
2025 Deliverables: One-to-two year fundraising strategy, with clear goals, timelines, donor targets, and budget tracking.
What was the most impactful thing about this event, or how did this event benefit you and your nonprofit?

To have experts in project management help break down a goal was very helpful. Their vision of categorization, prioritization, and task management was great.
What was the most important thing you took away from the event?

Availability of resources in the Colorado market for nonprofits

Under served community and this should be done more. Can we do this twice a year? How do we know if it worked? Check in with our non/ profits?

Hearing about the challenges they face

There is such a need for support from our local nonprofits; we should do this more often and do more marketing to the Colorado Nonprofit Association.

There is a ton of really important work going on around the Denver metro, and it feels great to help however we can

The most important thing I took away from this experience is how quickly 4 people (1 non-profit and three PMs), who had little to no contact before the event, were able to draft a plan that is well-suited for the customer.

It was such a wonderful opportunity to not only collaborate but also learn from the other PMs and the nonprofit leaders we worked with.
